JD Schletewitz
Founding & Lead Pastor
JD Schletewitz

Pastor JD Schletewitz and his wife, Kimberly, moved to Little Elm in 2006 as part of a pastoral team to plant a new church in The Colony, TX.

Although very happy at the church in The Colony -Horizons Church- JD felt God’s clear calling to leave that ministry and to plant a new church in the Little Elm & West Frisco community. JD has been working towards this end since then.

JD received his BA in Bible Literature at Azusa Pacific College and received his Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. He is an ordained elder in the Wesleyan Church and New Leaf Church will be his fourth church planting project.

“I am very excited that consistantly people are accepting Jesus because of the work at New Leaf. These new believers are being baptised, discipled and sent out from New Leaf to make a real difference for God and His kingdom in this community. God is moving and working here!” JD Schletewitz

Kimberly Schletewitz
Children's Ministry
Kimberly Schletewitz

As a grandmother of nine, there is nothing more worthwhile than sharing Jesus with the grandchildren. Kimberly's passion for the children comes through as she shares with the children's church every week and that even includes a grandchild or two. All of elementary age kids get the infection. Two kids accepted Jesus just recently and more are constantly growing in Him! It is a delight to realize how Bible literate even the children at New Leaf are.

Using gum and toothpicks to make audio work across formats that everyone can see and hear the message each week for worship service is a passion of Mike's. He has adjusted the tech systems to work on a virtual, interactive system that continues to improve. Additionally he is a trainer of the next generation as several of the youth are learning to run the technical aspects of the church audio/video systems.
